Friday 2nd May 2025: Vets, Supervets and Masters races

The race for the vets men’s was the first race after the ladies but before the Supervets which is the race at where our ladies were participating. The first race was St Agnes followed by the Nutrock. See the distance below

The first St Agnes placing race was longer and the crew consisted of Cox : Ken (Pothleven), 6: Steve, 5: James, 4: Anthony, 3: Barry (Coverack) 2: Me, 1: Duncan ( Mount’s Bay) . Good race and conditions good for rowing but difficult as Antony’s stretcher broke. Race info

We rowed it to the start and then raced but slower than normal with the broken stretcher

The main NutRock race for the final followed

We had a good race against vault and did a lot better with the repaired stretcher. The results are as below, so we beat 3 boats.

It would have been nice if we could have had a Supervets or Masters crew. The ladies Supervets team did well. Some photos below. Was looking forward to the next day but found out that my Fudgey boy had died so got the last ferry ⛴️ out on Saturday. Looking forward to next year and perhaps can stay and for the whole 3 days.

Unfortunately this was the day my lovely Fudgey boy died and ended my Scillies participation and found out the morning after.
