Wednesday 8th April 2026: Day 36 – Singapore/Gulval

Offloaded at Singapore airport at 1.30am with all our luggage and went to the lounge for until 2.30am and had to go through a full security check at boarding gate which was really annoying. After re-boarding went to sleep and woken to have breakfast and landed at 10.30. Got a cab to our friends house in Staines and had a coffee and lovely cake that Sue made and had a quick catch up before making the 6hr drive home with a couple of holdups on the M3 and 303. On way picked up provisions at M&S and had a quick meal and off to bed.

Monday 30th March 2026: Day 27 – Cottlesloe

Up really early for a 5km walk to a hour swimsmooth technique swim training with Sally at Claremont aqua centre. This was 1300m session using fins, pool buoy etc. This was to replace the full video session I had planned with Paul Newsome several months earlier that did not materialised. Good session though and outlined my sinking legs and drag slowing me down.

50m outdoor pool at Claremont

After this found that a train near the centre took me back to Cottlesloe. After having breakfast went to the local Woolworth to pick up a few provisions for our stay in Cottlesloe. The back to apartment to do some unpacking and walked to the beach to watch the sunset and then a long walk and then a meatball spaghetti bolognese and a red we bought from the Redgate winery in Margaret River.
