Tuesday 24th September 2024: WattBike ride on Stage 1 of La Vuelta ride

Had a crack at the first stage of La Vuelta cycle competition going from Portugal to Spain. This stage is in Portugal 🇵🇹 from Lisbon to a small town called Oeiras. The professional winner for this stage was the American Brandon McNully from UAE Team Emirates. He won this stage in 12′ 35″ at an average speed of 57.2 km/hr. Looking at my time need to sharpen up. Lisbon is a Nice City and reminds me on many times meeting with AEMPS regulatory authority and organising a conference with them.Also did some strength training with weights and a cool down row on C2 RowErg

Monday 9th September 2024: WattBike training ride on ROUVY Oman route

Quick 20min WattBike ride on ROUVY Oman 🇴🇲 route. Good job I was in cool 🆒 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 as I am sure it would be hotter 🥵 over there knowing the Middle East weather at this time of year. Followed this with strength training with weights

Sunday 8th September 2024: WattBike training ride on the ROUVY Norway bridge route

Nice 🚴 ride on a bridge on the ROUVY Atlantic road route in Norway 🇳🇴 without cold weather. Reminds me of the Nordic skiing 🎿 with the army in Nothern Norway 🥶. Not too far as the internet was playing up. Looks nice when this photo was taken.

This was followed by strength training with a few weights 🏋️‍♀️and a 1km cool down row 🚣🏿

Saturday 31st August 2024: PNPGC took part in South East England League Regatta

Three of us went to the above regatta at Silver Wings Sailing Club that is in Wraysbury lake in Staines. There were 11 teams at the event including Rowhedge, Brightlingsea, London Cornish, West London, Poole, Newhaven, Affinity, Lewes, Oarsome Thames Barbarians and us. There were gig races as follows – men’s and women’s six oared (2 laps) men’s and women’s four oared (1 lap) and mixed six oared (2 laps). We were first up in the men’s 6 with the support of 3 rowers from Poole plus the cox. Trevor, James and myself were the PNPGC team. We won this heat convincingly against Oarsome and Sussex gig teams which was great as two of the Poole rowers were Poole juniors.We fueled up with an Ann’s pastie and few beers before the next two races that were at the end of day.

Some great racing followed which is shown on the results board later.The next race was the men’s four oared gig race gig race heat which included us three plus a rower from Rowhedge. We won this convincingly. Trevor was 4, James 3 RCRC rower and 1 me.

The final row was the mixed six oared with the three of us and two women from Brighlingsea as well as another man from Poole with the cox from Poole. Trev was in 6, James in 4 and me in 2

We came 4th out of the 11 teams which was an excellent result considering our numbers. The results are as follows;

The event was finished with a tug of war with crews in two of the four oared gigs which was fun 🤩
