After an ErgRow and some weights including bench press with barbell and dumbell rows carried out this 11km virtual zwift ride. Stats below

Started a virtual training row on ErgRow before being interrupted by a phone call. Glad as pretty boring rowing π£ββοΈ for long distances on RowErg but a nice session but need to get the pace down to closer to 2 min/500m with initial catch also keeping stroke rate to 22-24. See different stats below

Quick virtual row on the RowErg but set up not quite right, so only did just over 2km before terminating the row. Average stroke rate 23 and pace 2.16 which need to reduce on short distances.

An evening crew row training for the Great River Race and Poole 5 islands. Practicing racing at different paces and buoy turns: Cox: Wendy, 6: Jem, 5: Julie, 4: Steve, 3: Trevor, 2: Alison,1: Me. Julie swooped with Sarah which did the first part of the practice at back of boat. The following shows the stroke technique of crew as videos and some further stats of race.

Nearly 10km Long Row with most of GRR crew to Mousehole Harbour and back from Penzance Harbour. Cloudy evening but reasonable waves. Cox: Wendy, 6: Jem, 5:Julie 4: Trevor 3: Steve 2: Sarah 1: Me. Good speed to Mousehole and back.
when we arrived in Mousehole harbour the crew had a little rest π
Nice shot of Mousehole Harbour before returning at a good speedSummary of the stats of the row

Good mixed men over 5km training row session in a beautiful evening with sun and very calm waters making it great to home technique adjustments for length of stroke as well as practicing race starts and racing. Cox; Julie 6: Steve 5: Me 4: Trevor 3: Grant 2: Claire 1: Mikey/Kerry

shots of crew and a lovely boat on the farm waters as the sun sets at around 21.00 pm. We all went to the Dock in Penzance for a few drinks

summary of stats of the row in full as we moving well during training periods when not stopping
This was a interval session after doing 5 more similar practice sessions to try to bring the times down by changing technique learnt from Dark Horse beginners technique YouTube sessions. Knocking quite a few seconds off my previous times which hopefully will come down as I get fitter and home the RowErg technique better which makes a difference. Hope to do below 2min/500m regularly on all RowErg sessions in future but getting breathing right is important.
A long Endurance Great River Race (GRR) crew training row of over 21 km / 13 miles from Penzance Harbour to Praa sands circling the Mount and back. Very choppy seas and cloudy βοΈ. Cox: Wendy, 6: Jem, 5: Julie, 4: Steve, 3: Trevor. 2: Alison, 1: me. Quite a challenging row due to high waves but fantastic training to improve our endurance for the London Great River Race in September – 2/3 there for the distance for the 34Km or 22 mile race.
Summary of the long row above in difficult conditions. We followed this by going to the dock in Penzance for a few celebratory drinks and crew team building as the whole team did a great job in the challenging seas Also lots of laughs of course π΄ββ οΈπ£πΏ

Nice evening with full men’s training row in a lovely sunny π evening with calm seas. Good training on race starts and buoy turning. Cox: Julie/Wendy, 6: Steve, 5: Me, 4: Mikey, 3: Grant, 2: Jonny/Kevin, 1: Trevor.

Crew in front and behind me

Did a training session working out the correct technique on the Concept2 RowErg. Nice relaxed π training session on YouTube which I need to put into practice on future training rows. Summary of sessions below. Everything was done at a slow pace, but still covered 2.5km.
