Two strong training rows with crew for the open IoS champs. First 11.2Km row Cox: Rich (Rowhedge), 6: Steve, 5: Julie, 4: Trevor, 3: Lyndon (Burnham on Sea) 2 Gus (Epic) 1: me. Went round the Mount in choppy seas with power racing rowing π£πΏ and practicing starts. The second was 6.6 km where I was changed to 6, 5: James 4: Steve, 3: Trevor, 2: Lyndon and Gus:1 this change was to streamline the boat. In this session we did a number of racing starts and added technique to our power rowing. Really good training endurance training rowing π£ββοΈ sessions for the Scillies Champs. We followed this with a social at the Pirate π΄ββ οΈ Inn
After weeks of rain and high winds we managed to get on the water for a 4km gig row practicing starts and power rowing π£ββοΈ in choppy seas. We also did an oars up in honour for Wendy’s husband Godfrey who died. Cox: Julie, 6: Steve 5: Emma, 4: Kevin, 3: James 2: Jonny, 1: me. Afterwards went for a few pints in the Longboat.
