Quick row on Concept2 ergrow to increase fitness for the Great River Race in September. Need to quicken the time per 500m and distance. I think more flexibility in hips by Pilates to increase forward reach and length of stroke. Good workout though.

Penzance and Newlyn Pilot Gig Club (PNPGC) led a row along the Penzance sea front to Sandy Cove. We had two boats π£ββοΈ out the six oared Morladron and four oared flighty Four-Titude fully crewed seen above where I was in stroke. Morladron crew below with oars up and flying the thank you to the NHS flag. We were also joined in this row with our friends in Porthleven gig club who brought two boats energetic and π£ββοΈ to support our initiative.
We rowed from Penzance Harbour along the sea front and onto Sandy cove and back. First row to Sandy cove below in the flighty four oared gig Cox: Wendy, 4: Me, 3: Trevor, 2: 1: Cara with flying the flag. Little choppy and β
οΈ with some Sun but nice evening for a row

Arrived at Sandy cove but decided to go back along the beach for the second row.

After the row we went to the Longboat pub in Penzance for a drink π»with the Portleven crews that could stay on.

A good Pilates session working on flexibility with a number of stretching exercises some using elastic bands to increase stretches

After some strength training with weights on arms, chest and legs carried out a virtual WattBike sprint session on a Zwift French course c’est bon as it reminded me if cycling in France π«π·. Great fitness for the calf, thigh, glutes and foot/ ankles.

Session had many poses that increases the muscle strength and tone especially abdominal, lower back, hips and buttocks (core muscles of the body) much needed for gig rowing π£ββοΈ and improving general posture
