Quick warm up Row Erg before a virtual bike 🚴 ride on zwift. Still need to improve technique on this to get faster.

Good session training with CGC for the first time at Porthoustock Beach near Coverack. Crew : Cox: Sophie, 6: Lilly, 5: Jon, 4: Gary, 3: Peter, 2: Me, 1: Andy. The launch off on the beach was interesting as rather rough and the boat filled with water until we rowed out of the in coming waves. Took some time emptying the boat of water with a bucket and a smaller containers before we could row. Then practiced starts 2 strong, followed by four powerful and long and then into long fast racing strokes for 2 minutes. We did several of these in rough swelly seas where we had to find the water. Good practice ready for the Scillies world championship race in a months time with plenty of time for training. Coming into the beach on the waves on the gig future was fun also. Looking forward to Mini Scillies at Helford if takes place axman weather looks bad.

Evening training row with PNPGC from Penzance harbour. Cox: Julie, 6:Tina, 5: Kevin, 4: Steve, 3: Al, 2: Me, 1: Janice. Fairly choppy with emphasis on stroke technique especially length of stroke. Also race technique. Nice to see the Scillonian III coming into Penzance Harbour from the Scillies probably in preparation to get our gigs over to the St Mary’s ready for the Gig Championships at the end of April

2nd Scillies CPG club supervets crew training in Falmouth. Cox: Sophie, 6:Linette, 5: Jon, 4: Gary, 3: Peter, 2: Me, 2: Andy. Quite blustery with little swell. Nice row from Falmouth slip to Penryn. Just Martin missing with Linette as a fill in on stroke. Practiced race starts as well

short learn to row session helping new rowers to enjoy gig rowing 🚣🏿. This Julie coxing and Steve, myself and Kevin. Good to see the responses of Cara, Liz and Sarah to first row. Good session on technique ad I was in seat 2.
Men’s Crew training from Penzance harbour. Cox: Julie, 6: Jemima, 5: Al, 4: Chris, 3: Me, 2: Steve, 1: Kevin. Lots of practice on race starts as well as lengthening the stroke while racing

Test ride on WattBike 🚴 as gears are not working on shifter. However did work on the WattBike hub app. Investigating issue with support. Found out the issue a few rides ago when the gear was stuck in 6 in Zwift and I could not get any power or speed due to low gear ratio. Nice change from rowing 🚣♀️

Afternoon Gig Row with MBPGC Ladies Supervets Team going to Scillies Cox: Teresa, 6 Zoe, 5: Liz, 4: ?, 3: ? 2: Shirley, 1: Me. This was mainly in harbour but went out into choppy seas. Did plenty of hard pyramids.

After yesterday evening CGC Supervets team first row did a bit of a technique row machine training on Concept2 ErgRow with RowAlong coach.

Training session with 3 other members of the Coverack Gig Club Supervets Scillies team. Cox: Sophie, 6: Gary 5: Louis, 4: Me, 3: Peter, 2: Andy 1: Lynette. Launched from Falmouth Watersports centre. 8×2 minute hard sessions with starts of 2 long, 4 fast followed by long race strokes.
